This role reports directly to the General Manager of Snap-on Finance UK Limited and is responsible for overseeing the Portfolio Management and Operations Teams. The Assistant General Manager will have 4 direct reports and 11 indirect reports within their scope of responsibility.

Within Portfolio Management they will be responsible for the management of a number of loan portfolios totalling over £100m. Their primary aim is to achieve corporate, regional, national and individual performance standards relating to delinquency, loss and recoveries. This area of the business is also largely responsible for driven sales growth to maintain and grow portfolio balance and customer count.

The operations team are responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the finance operation. The Assistant General Manager has oversite of all Snap-on Finance purchasing functions, payment application, GL analyses/balancing and documentation control.

The Assistant General Manager will be expected to have general knowledge of the other operations within Snap-on Finance to provide cover and support for the General Manager as required.

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for working directly with the General Manager and Compliance Manager to ensure that all processes within their scope of responsibility are completed with regulatory compliance in mind. They will be responsible for the creation, adaptation and implementation of regulatory changes as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties of the Portfolio Manager are listed below, but it is the nature of the job that each activity will have its own range of demands which he/she will be expected to meet.

Management of Team
• Day to day management of the Portfolio management, and Operations Teams including but not limited to; absence management, performance monitoring and management and disciplinary processes.
• Development of employees to achieve their full potential, with a view of future progression planning.
• Coordinate and ensure all relevant training provided to all associates.
• Provide performance feedback for all direct reports, complete timely performance reviews and handle any performance improvement requirements.
• Ensuring compliance of the entire team in terms of all regulated activities.
• Ensure that all deadlines are met and staff are held accountable for their responsibilities on a day to day basis.

Portfolio Management
• Report and track net losses/delinquency and provide weekly, quarterly and annual projections on all portfolios – EC / Lease and Franchise Finance.
• Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly delinquency and loss projections to UK and US Management.
• Prepare and present a full quarterly forecasting package to the President of the US Credit Groups and all relevant VP’s.
• Analysis of business portfolio, reviewing strategy and formulating plans to drive efficiencies and improvement of results in all areas.
• Review and approve contract extensions, fee waivers, and Platinum Consideration exceptions.
• Review and approve all litigation requests for all portfolios.
• Review and approve all losses for write off in accordance with the schedule of authority.
• Ensure collection and repossession procedures adhere to corporate policy
• Ensuring the team develop the credit business by building strong relationships with sales management and franchisees.
• Attendance at regional sales events to promote the credit business and support business development and growth.

Operations
• Periodic bank reconciliations.
• Ensure the timely processing of all contracts and payments across all portfolios.
• Relationship management; being the primary advocate between external banking vendors and also internal accounting and treasury functions.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and schedules of authorities.
• Internal and external audit support
• Continued development, improvement, and documentation of SOF EC Operations procedures and established Corporate Policies
